words from the wise
"As a result of the appropriate gymnastics and training of the horse, the appearance and the movements of the horse will be more beautiful." -Colonel Alois Podhajsky
I'm a typical freshman in high school with high hopes for success in the Eventing world. I've been riding since age 3, starting with Classical Dressage and keeping it in my roots for all the 12 years I've been riding. Eventing stole my heart at age 10, when I was introduced to it by my trainer at the time. It was love at first sight, a fearless girl in love with adrenaline rushes and pushing the limits and a sport with the same points, plus horses. I've leased more horses than I can count, seriously, and waited two long winters to find the horse that I would call my own. When I found Deco in August of 2008, he was a gorgeous and athletic Thoroughbred who was misunderstood. We "saved" Deco, and have definitely had our speedbumps and setbacks in the year and so many months that we've been together. Finally, this year, 2010, I'll be able to event like we planned when we bought him; or so we think.
